Next of Kin Sixth Edition
Terms and Conditions
Agreement to Participate.
Confirmation of participation involves payment of the application fee, submission of mandatory applicant details, and relevant documents, including necessary artwork data. Submitting the entry form signifies your agreement to abide by the conditions outlined in this document, with your signature confirming your commitment to adhere to the specified terms.
By participating, you commit to submitting artworks within the specified art specializations. If registration requirements change after your entry submission, you agree to pay the updated entry fee. Additionally, if selected for the grand opening/finale, you will be expected to attend the Press Conference and other media-related events organized for Next of Kin Sixth Edition.
Agreeing to immediate disqualification will result from the identification of artworks belonging to another artist, along with the use of unlawful, counterfeit, or deceptive information and documents.
Delivery and Return.
If chosen to be amongst the top 20, the artworks presented must match those submitted for entry and be prepared for gallery display. Any delivered artworks considered unsuitable for exhibition during the grand opening/finale will lead to disqualification unless a suitable replacement is promptly provided upon request by the Jury and Gallery Management.
Should your entry be chosen by the Jury for the grand finale, you commit to ensuring your presence and timely delivery of artworks throughout the designated days of the grand opening/finale. Artworks should be conveyed in appropriate, reusable containers/packaging, adhering to the professional standards expected for such pieces. Additionally, you will be accountable for covering the shipping/framing expenses.
When applying, refrain from submitting artworks that you cannot ensure will be available for display in the event of selection for the grand opening/finale exhibition.
Video and Photograph.
By agreeing, you consent to being filmed alongside your entry(ies) for the purpose of website content, social media posts, sales advertisements, event promotions, cataloging, and unrestricted inclusion in marketing and other activities associated with Next of Kin before, during, and after the event. In the event of selection and attendance (or non-selection), you also permit the capturing of your images, voice, and video as part of the media promotions content for the grand opening/finale.
Insurance.
While our staff will guarantee the meticulous handling, presentation, and security of artworks provided for the grand opening/finale, the gallery cannot assume responsibility for any inadvertent or accidental damage sustained by the artwork(s) prior to, during, and following the exhibition. Furthermore, the gallery will not be accountable for securing insurance for the artwork(s).
Artworks Sale.
Upon being selected for the grand opening/finale, Thought Pyramid Art Centre will receive an unalterable 40% commission on the sale of each exhibited artwork. Note that Artworks should not be priced higher than N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira.) per piece. Unsold artwork(s) will be eligible for purchase at prices to be mutually negotiated and confirmed by the artist and the gallery. In the event that an agreement cannot be reached regarding the purchase of the artwork(s) between the artist and Thought Pyramid Art Centre, it is the artist's responsibility to arrange for the pickup and cover the return shipping fee of the artwork(s) within the gallery's specified deadline. Failure to comply will result in the artist abiding by the gallery's decision concerning such artworks.
Jury Decision.
By clicking the accept, you commit to respecting the judgment of the jury and strictly abiding by the rules and regulations of Next of Kin, including any new or unforeseen directives issued by the Jury and Gallery management.
Also by clicking the accept button, you affirm your commitment to uphold these terms and conditions. Additionally, you acknowledge that violating this agreement may result in the cancellation/disqualification of your entry and potential fines, as determined by the Jury.
